Associate Degree in Nursing
The Associate Degree Nursing Program is designed to prepare graduates for careers as entry level registered nurses in a variety of health care settings. The curriculum provides students the opportunity to develop nursing knowledge and skills through classroom instruction, practice skills laboratories, high-fidelity simulation, and clinical experiences.
LPN-RN
Opportunities exist for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with current unencumbered licenses to enter the Associate Degree Nursing Program with advanced standing.

Associate Degree in Nursing
This is a four-semester program that includes a balance of general education and nursing courses that assist students in acquiring the knowledge and skills to function as beginning practitioners of nursing. The program is approved by the Wyoming State Board of Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Students receive classroom instruction and coordinated clinical experience in the nursing care of patients in health care settings under the supervision and guidance of the nursing faculty. Upon completion of the program, the graduate earns an Associate of Applied Science degree and is eligible to write the qualifying examination for registered nurse licensure.
LPN-RN
This option is offered twice a year. The program is a classroom-based setting to complete the third and fourth semesters of the nursing program. You must be a LPN or have had two consecutive semesters of nursing school.

Associate Degree in Nursing
This is the option you’re looking for if you want to work as a Registered Nurse (RN) after a two-year course of study at Northwest. Prerequisites apply that could increase the total number of semesters you’re enrolled in classes.
Practical Nursing
The Practical Nursing Certificate provides a solid foundation in the principles and theories of nursing for students planning to practice as Licensed Practical Nurses in the health care setting. Students who successfully complete the program of study will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing.

Associate Degree in Nursing
The associate degree nursing program prepares the graduate to function as a Registered Nurse in providing care to clients with complex health care needs. Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The nursing courses consist of two parts: classroom study and supervised clinical experience. Both classroom and clinical components must be completed for students to progress in the program. Clinical components are scheduled on various days and times based on agreements with clinical facilities.
Practical Nursing
Nursing students at Northern Wyoming Community College District are educated in both classroom and clinical settings. Sheridan College & Gillette College offer an Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS Degree) with an optional Practical Nursing exit (certificate) after the first year.

Doctor of Nursing Practice (the new standard in advanced practice nursing education) for the registered nurse with a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Offering family and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner tracks with emphasis on rural primary care.
