Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Baccalaureate nursing education provides the essential knowledge and skills required for the entry-level registered nurse as well as a sound foundation for graduate study for advanced practice nursing positions such as nurse practitioners, midwives, and nurse educators. Highly educated nurses are crucial for management of the complex problems in this ever changing health care environment. The BCHS nursing program provides a strong liberal education upon which nursing courses build and the development of critical skills in a diverse array of health care settings. Small class size allows faculty to plan and oversee all aspects of the student's experience. The Baptist College is fortunate to be affiliated with a large, respected health care facility that provides sites for many clinical experiences; however, various other facilities in three states are also used to enhance and expand the student's leaning experience.

RN-BSN
The program is designed to accommodate high school graduates, transfer students and registered nurses who hold associate degrees in nursing or who are graduates of diploma nursing programs.

The goal of the Jeanette C. Rudy School of Nursing is to prepare men and women for professional roles and responsibilities in health care as registered nurses. In keeping with the philosophy of Cumberland University, nursing is a distinct profession that evolves from both formal education and life experiences. The practice of nursing is grounded in nursing science. Nursing education in a liberal arts environment is based upon the developing body of knowledge of nursing, as well as knowledge from the humanities and the social, natural and life sciences. Nursing education at the baccalaureate level prepares students for entry-level professional practice positions in a variety of community and institutional health care settings and prepares students to become partners in interdependent, multi-disciplinary health care.

Cumberland University's Online RN-BSN Program is designed for the working nurse. Conducted entirely online, the program offers nurses the opportunity to earn a BSN degree while maintaining their work schedules. Providing a strong education in the future of nursing and current trends in healthcare, the program also gives students a solid foundation for graduate education. Unlike traditional "brick and mortar" programs, the 36 hour RN-BSN program requires no clinical. It, instead, allows students to complete course projects in their own workplaces and communities.
