Associate Degree in Nursing
At Great Basin College we offer a two-year Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in nursing. The program is fully approved by the Nevada State Board of Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC, 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326, 404-975-5000). Instruction by experienced, registered nurse educators, coupled with small class sizes provide an ideal learning environment for you. Up-to-date curricula integrates courses in nursing with general education requirements. Laboratory and clinical experience is offered at the college, in the Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital, nursing homes and other community facilities.


RN-BSN
A totally online program, the Great Basin College RN to BSN is designed for non-traditional RN students with an associate degree who want to continue their education in nursing and still be engaged in practicing their profession. The program is fully approved by the Nevada State Board of Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC, 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326, 404-975-5000). The program allows you the flexibility to work toward your degree full time or part time and to adapt completion of course assignments to times and locations convenient to your personal and professional lives. Direct practice in a clinical setting is not a requirement in RN to BSN Program.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The School of Nursing at Nevada State College (NSC) offers four tracks for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree – the traditional two-year Regular Track, two and a half-year Part-Time Track, the one-year Accelerated Track and the online Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) track.
The Regular Track is a two-year pre-licensure track for applicants starting or returning to college to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. The Part-Time Track is a two and a half year pre-licensure track for applicants that want to earn a bachelor of Science in Nursing degree while maintaining their existing life responsibilities.


Accelerated BSN
The Accelerated Track is a pre-licensure track for applicants who already have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher in any subject, but are returning to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.


RN-BSN
The RN to BSN Track is for applicants who already have a Registered Nurse license and want the flexibility of an online program to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Roseman University of Health Sciences offers an 18-month Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The BSN program prepares the candidates for entry into practice as a nurse generalist. At the completion of the program, the graduate is prepared to practice the profession of nursing assuming legal, ethical and professional responsibility as identified in the Nurse Practice Act. The graduate must apply for, take and pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) required for all registered nurse candidates.


Accelerated BSN
Roseman University of Health Sciences offers an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program. The ABSN program is designed for students who have earned a Bachelor’s degree in another field of study. The ABSN Program is a hybrid program that offers the didactic component online through faculty presentations. Clinical rotations, group assignments and laboratory assignments are held in-person at one of the Roseman campuses and/or health-care facilities throughout Southern Nevada. The BSN program prepares the candidates for entry into practice as a nurse generalist. Associate Degree in Nursing
The TMCC associate degree in nursing (ADN) program prepares the student to practice nursing as a registered nurse. Graduates of an ADN program usually practice as nurses in direct client care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics and community agencies where nursing roles and services are structured and well defined. The associate in applied science degree in nursing will be awarded upon completion of the curriculum, and the student will be eligible to apply to take the state licensure examination leading to practice as a registered nurse. The nursing program is a full-time program. As such, all core nursing courses in the degree are to be taken in sequence. General education support courses may be taken as outlined or prior to acceptance into the program. Students are strongly encouraged to complete as many support courses as possible prior to entering the program as the time requirements of the program are considerable.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The School of Nursing’s undergraduate nursing program has patient-centered care at the core of our curriculum. Our program is intense and demanding. After completion of prerequisite courses, the nursing courses are offered in four consecutive semesters, each 15 weeks in length. The Bachelor’s of Science in nursing prepares students for entry level nursing practice, as well as future graduate study.


Master of Science in Nursing FNP
The family nurse practitioner track in the Master of Nursing Science program prepares the graduate to work:
•as a nurse practitioner in a variety of settings
•perform health histories and physical examinations
•order and interpret diagnostic tests
•diagnose and manage acute and chronic diseases
•prescribe medication and treatments
•provide patient and family counseling and education regarding lifestyle behaviors


Master of Science in Nursing Educator
The Nursing Education Track prepares the graduate to:
•Accept a faculty position within a program of nursing or a nurse educator position in a clinical setting.
•Increase mastery related to teaching and learning and evaluation strategies, curriculum design, and the use of educational technologies.
•Enhance clinical expertise in a selected specialty area, via directed study and mentorship with experienced faculty.
•Supervise basic nursing students in clinical practice areas and/or work with nurse educators in clinical settings in the preparation, delivery and evaluation of educational programs for nurses.


Doctor of Nursing Practice
The Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree is a terminal professional practice degree and prepares graduates for advanced clinical practice and leadership roles to serve the health care needs of the people of Nevada, the nation, and the professional community. Graduates are equipped to assume a wide range of leadership roles in both direct and indirect health care settings. Graduates may function as specialists in their advanced practice clinical roles, nursing faculty, or as healthcare executives, program and policy analysts, and systems experts. The UNDNP program is a post-master's collaborative program between the School of Nursing at UNLV and the Orvis School of Nursing at the University of Nevada, Reno. The collaborative program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Cohorts of up to 14 students will be admitted to each school each year. The program is offered online with three on-campus meetings during the course of the program consisting of two days on campus for orientation and one day each during two different semesters for the DNP Project Proposal and DNP Project defenses. Students may enroll full-time and complete the program in two years or part time to complete the program in three years. As such, the program is five semesters long with one summer session the first year for students pursuing full-time study and eight semesters long, with two summer sessions after the first and second years, for students pursuing part-time study. Total program credits are 39 with a DNP Project, focused in three courses and spaced over three semesters. The semesters in which the DNP Project is focused will depend on whether the student is following a full-time or part-time program of study.

Associate Degree in Nursing
WNC's Associate Degree Nursing Program is intended for students seeking careers as a registered nurse. The curriculum is sequenced and progresses in complexity. It integrates knowledge from the bio/social sciences, humanities, and is intended to prepare graduates to pass the national licensure examination (NCLEX-RN) and to function as registered nurses in diverse care settings. Upon completion of the Associate Degree Nursing Program, students will be awarded an Associate of Applied Science degree. Graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN. A limited number of qualified students are admitted as first semester students utilizing the selection criteria outlined below. The nursing program requires that pre-and co-requisite courses be completed with a grade of "C" or better (a C- or lower will not be accepted). Students admitted to the program are required to attend mandatory orientation sessions scheduled for late spring or early summer and prior to the start of classes.
